MODULAR HARDWARE OF WOOD®
the MODOM’s building system MHW®
THE BUILDING SYSTEM
MODOM has patented an innovative building system and named it MHW® – Modular Hardware of Wood. It is a framing system and cosists of modular multi-layered panels, that are entirely prefabricated off-site, in order to ensure the maximum precision and quality of the product.
The structural floor-, wall- and roof-panels are shipped on-site and comes with all the necessary materials to complete the building, such as windows, claddings, heating pump and so on. Panels are joined together, thanks to an error-proof interlocking system and they are fastened with mechanical fastnening systems.
The final layout of the building is given by the combination of several elements, according to schemes and aggregation models, designed during the concept phase.
THE REAL MODULARITY IN CONSTRUCTION
Like in a construction game, the MHW® system brings modularity in the construction sector. Every surface is customizable, so that the real limit for the designer is the imagination!
It is also possible to change the layout once the building is realized, by adding or removing panels, in order to expand or reduce the space already built! Furthermore, the maintenance is simplified, thanks to the use of “dry” technologies (no glues and no mortars are used to fix the materials, only mechanical fastening systems)!
FAREWELL TO THE TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION
high standards without surprises
Every layer of the modular panel is designed with the perspective of a mass production: the purpose consists of reducing as more as possible the number of processes carried out on-site, to manage them directly into the factory (off-site). A modern “Industry 4.0” production implies also material traceability, high precision, reliable costs and brief delivery times.
The modular panels and the other elements are packed and safely loaded on trucks, in order to assure the maximum performance and protect the quality of the product. The final customer will not receive a pre-mounted module, as it used to implie an oversize load, so the delivery cost would be expesive.
DELIVERY AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE
The dimensions of the modular panels are optimized, so that they can be loaded into a standard 40-foot container (about 30 square meters). This means MODOM can ship worlwide its products.
SIMPLE ON-SITE MOUNTING
The assembly of the structures is simple, quick and intuitive. Each panel is lifted by a light crane truck, it is positionated correctly, then fastened with screws. Finally, windows and vapour barriers seal the building, so that the structure is completely protected against water and moisture.
“PLUG AND PLAY” SYSTEMS
Once the structure is erected and insulated, it comes the turn of the hydraulic and eletrical systems. The modular panels already integrate a cavity, where plumbings and cables can be layed. Even the job of both the electrician and the plumber are simplified, so that installation costs are less heavy.
READY FOR YOUR CUSTOMIZATION
Once the building is completed, the interior and exterior cladding are layed. MODOM offers a wide range of materials to choose from: different wood species, metals, textiles, ceramics and many more.
THE HOME BECOMES A PRODUCT
everything you need to know
This is the MODOM’s revolution: the building becomes a product that can be personalized by the customer, just like if you are buying a car. In this way, during the concept phase, you will have a reliable quotation of the costs involved by the construction. Once the order has been sent, the production process occurs simultaneously to the site preparation and foundation works, or even before them. Furthermore, modular construction results in fewer vehicle movements to, from and on the construction site, reducing also transport-related emissions and disruption. Lastly, you will experiment a significant reduction in construction times and will get the keys earlier. Each product comes with a user manual, which describes the functions of the building, the best practies for a proper maintenance, the quality certifications and the warranty.
